This week at OCMHS:
Congratulations to our 6th grade team on their 56th District Championship and to our 7th grade team for finishing as district runner-up. Our OCMS Owls represented our school with pride all season long.
We added a little festive fun to our district MTSS meeting tonight with good fellowship, hot chocolate, and a book exchange. It was a nice way to connect as a team while continuing important conversations around student support and MTSS.

Thank you to Amy Dooley, our PRI school coordinator, for organizing a fun, festive family paint night, and to Kenna Spears for guiding the evening and helping families create special memories together.
OCHS seniors have been decorating a Postsecondary Readiness Christmas Tree in Mrs. Eversole's Guidance Office with ornaments decorated with college/career plans. Our seniors will be crossing the stage in a few months!

There will be school in Owsley County on Monday December 15th. Mission of Hope will be visiting Owsley County Elementary School tomorrow December 15th. We look forward to seeing everyone in the morning.

Owsley County celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Owsley County High School Gymnasium "The Palace" this afternoon, with a boys and girls double header. Prior to the boys game, Coach Jimmy Ray Bowman, players, and managers of the first team to play in the gym was recognized, as well as the two referees who called that first game. McCreary County Central were the opponents today representing the first visiting team, Pine Knot which later consolidated into McCreary County Central. A big Thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this event successful.

Great effort by our student-athletes and coaches. We’re proud of the way they’ve competed and represented Owsley.
The OCHS Owls traveled to Buckhorn High School on Tuesday and came away with a big road win. It marks the first victory for the Owls over Buckhorn in more than 20 years. What a night for our program!

The OCMS Owl season may be winding down, but our 8th grade Owls defended home court tonight with a win over Jackson County.
Due to forecasted inclement weather. There will be No School in Owsley County on Friday December 12th. This will be a traditional snow day. Enjoy your snow day.

Owsley County Schools have been approved to provide meals on NTI days through the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be prepared at Owsley County Elementary School. They may be picked up at the rear of the school using the kitchen door between 11:30am - 1:00pm. We are requesting that if you would like to pick up meals for your student that you complete the order form online at the district website: https://www.owsley.kyschools.us/page/school-nutrition or call (606) 593 -6363 ext. 439. Phone orders can be placed between 8:30am – 10:30am on the day NTI meals are available. All orders should be submitted by 10:30am on the day of pick-up to allow Food Service Staff time to prepare the meals.
