The Joint Leadership team met tonight to review academic, attendance, and behavior data as part of our district needs assessment. We identified celebrations and priority areas for improvement. The team also reviewed October school plans, reflected on progress, and set focused next steps for November to continue moving students and schools toward their Wildly Important Goals.

Our Warrior Wall at OCES. Cancer is a disease that can affect people of all ages, but together we can help by learning, caring, and showing support. During Cancer Awareness Month, we wear ribbons, share kind words, and remind everyone that hope and strength make a big difference. Simple acts—like making cards, joining fundraisers, or learning healthy habits—can help support those fighting cancer and show that no one battles alone.
Our new and emerging teachers met tonight to strengthen their use of checking for understanding strategies and to build a culture of error where students feel safe to try, learn, and grow. These practices help teachers meet students where they are and support every learner’s success.
Big night for our 6th and 8th grade Owls! They hit the road to Lee County and brought home two huge district victories. Proud of their effort and teamwork!

This morning our 3rd, 4th, and 5th/6th grade Owls hosted Breathitt and came away with three big wins! Great job, Owls!
Our OCHS Varsity Cheerleaders had the exciting opportunity to showcase their UCA competition routine for the students at the elementary school! 🎉 The team will soon be traveling to Delaware, Ohio, to compete for a bid to Nationals! 🏆

Congratulations to Owsley County Middle School Student, Daniel Burns on being the 2nd Place Winner in the Statewide Office of the Secretary General's Contest to design the next "I Voted" sticker for KY elections.

They took home big wins both at home over Menifee and on the road against Wolfe County — sweeping victories for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams.
