We need your help!
The Owsley County Board of Education is applying for the USDA’s Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant to provide students with access to virtual field trips, interaction with educational concepts that make a lasting impact on learning, expanded college and career opportunities and a broader student perspective in a wide variety of areas using two-way, interactive technology.
We need the community’s input on how you feel distance learning can help our students. Below is a link to a 2-question survey where you can be as specific or general in your thoughts as you feel comfortable. Please click the following link to share your thoughts on how you feel distance learning can positively impact our students so we can secure this grant funding and help all our students succeed. Thank you for supporting our students!

Today, we honored Beta Sponsor Joan Campbell for over 28 years of dedication to our club as she passed the torch to Mrs. Jessica Brewer and Serita McCoy. Several other teachers and parents have always lent a helping hand through the years, and we appreciate them as well! We also installed a new group of officers, inducted 16 new members, and recognized graduates of our National Beta Club! OCHS looks forward to seeing how memberships in this prestigious organization will impact students and how they, in turn, will impact the National Beta Club. We ask on behalf of all Beta members, past and present, that you continue supporting our service, achievement, character, and leadership efforts!

OCES students had the opportunity to welcome Kentucky author Leigh Anne Florence and her famous dachshunds, Woody and Chloe! Through stories, laughter, and life lessons, students learned the meaning behind W.O.O.D.Y. and the five ways to be successful. A special thank you to PRI Coordinator, Felecia Pittman, for helping provide this wonderful opportunity for our students.
