Lady Owls JV Game Day

All teachers across the district are participating in peer observations focused on their identified growth areas, while district administrators teach their classes to make this possible. This has been a powerful way to learn from one another and has also given our admin team meaningful time back with students, which is truly the heart of our work.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Middle School Academic Team competed in the annual Governor’s Cup competition this Saturday at Wolfe County Middle School. While our Quick Recall team was eliminated in round three, several of our students had strong individual performances and advanced to the next level of competition.
Daniel Burns placed 2nd in Social Studies, Jorge Perez placed 3rd in Social Studies and 3rd in Science, Erick McIntosh placed 5th in Science, and Jinger Marshall placed 4th in Arts and Humanities. We’re proud of the hard work and dedication these students continue to show. They will advance to the next level of competition on February 14th at Breathitt County. Congratulations to all of our competitors and coaches!

Owsley County High School was proud to host a ribbon cutting ceremony for Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), celebrating the launch of a program focused on preparing students for success beyond high school. JAG will support our students through career exploration, employability skills, leadership development, and postsecondary planning. We’re excited to partner in this work and grateful to everyone who helped make this opportunity possible for our students.
