Just a reminder to parents and families that there will be no school tomorrow, May 19th, due to Election Day. We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday, May 20th!

This morning at OCHS, seniors from the Class of 2026 enjoyed "Senior Breakfast". Thank you to the Owsley Co. Ministerial Association for sponsoring this special annual breakfast and for speaking to our upcoming graduates as they prepare for the next step.

"Jack III" our annual resident pumpkin has completed his 4th grade journey and is now safely planted in the OCES flower bed awaiting harvest time.
4th grade science students have successfully observed & repeated the life cycle of a pumpkin three years now. We can't wait to welcome "Jack IV" with our next group of rising scientists this fall!

We will finish up KSA required testing at OCMHS this week. Please continue to review the testing schedule carefully to ensure students arrive on time, are well rested, and have their Chromebooks fully charged for testing days.

Owsley County Baseball 56th District Baseball All-tournament Team: Jordan McCoy, Brayden Smith, and Dalton Peters

OCES students had the opportunity to welcome Kentucky author Leigh Anne Florence and her famous dachshunds, Woody and Chloe! Through stories, laughter, and life lessons, students learned the meaning behind W.O.O.D.Y. and the five ways to be successful. A special thank you to PRI Coordinator, Felecia Pittman, for helping provide this wonderful opportunity for our students.

Congratulations to Rhys Amis, a current OCHS senior and Lee Co. ATC student, who signed his letter of intent today with Amteck. Great job, Rhys and good luck as you start your career with Amteck.

2026 Senior Spotlight

Seniors put their creativity on display during a special painting class. Students enjoyed an engaging and fun-filled experience led by Kenna Spears. Thank you to Amy Dooley, PRI School Coordinator, for helping coordinate this wonderful opportunity for students.

We are proud of our new and emerging teachers for sharing their reflections and growth from this school year. We also want to recognize the mentors who supported and encouraged them along the way. Thank you all for your dedication to our students and schools!
