This week at OCMHS:

Join us as we introduce the dedicated teachers and staff who make up our school community in our Meet Our Team series.

OCMS Lady Owls took on Hazard today in the Breathitt Panorama. The 5/6 team pulled out a win 11-10, while the 7th grade fell to a talented 8th grade team. The Lady Owls next game will be at Wolfe County, August 26th.

Our first week of school has been a success! From classrooms to cafeterias, buses to hallways, every member of our school family has played a part in starting the year off right.

Thanks to last year’s Gear Up Grant and Mrs. Haley Sandlin, all of our OCMHS math and science classes now have new white board tables. Students can use them to demonstrate their learning in an engaging and interactive way.

Memo on school start and end times

The OCMS Lady Owls B Team lost a heartbreaker in OT tonight 26-24. The A team took the big win over the Lady Cats with a score of 44-4. The Lady Owls continue play Saturday at Breathitt High vs Hazard @ 2:00 & 3:00.

Summer EBT Information: Deadline August 15

The OCMS Lady Owls open their season at home tomorrow, Monday, August 11th, against Buckhorn. 6:30 & 7:30

We're proud to welcome Mrs. Haley Sandlin to her new role as JAGKY instructor and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our students.

Today in Mrs. Bishop’s, students became artifact investigators! Working in collaborative groups, they examined mystery items from the past and practiced making evidence-based claims using the CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) model. This engaging activity encouraged critical thinking, historical inquiry, and teamwork as we launched our unit.

Reminder - OCES opens at 7:30 for drop offs. Head Start opens at 7:45. For safety please do not drop off your students and leave them before these times. Thank you.
