During National Beta Club Week (March 9-13), students celebrated the accomplishments and ideals of Beta: Achievement, Character, Leadership, and Service. During students' lunch periods, Beta members led opportunities to set goals, to show kindness through thank you notes, to define what a leader is, and to generate ideas of service. It will be a new tradition for our local chapter to participate in from now on!
Mrs. Ward’s classroom was the winner of our annual pumpkin decorating contest, with a creative design tied to their unit of study. Today, the students got to celebrate their win with a well-earned treat to McDonald’s!

OCHS Gifted Student Spotlight of the Week!
Students in grades 3–11 will begin Spring MAP Testing tomorrow, Monday, March 23, in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Please help your child prepare by ensuring they get a good night’s rest, eat breakfast, and bring a fully charged Chromebook each day.
Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will complete their Spring NWEA MAP testing during the final 14 days of the school year.
These assessments are important as they provide valuable information to help us make instructional decisions and better meet the needs of each student.

OCHS Gifted Student Spotlight of the Week!
Congratulations to our OCHS middle and high Math Pi Day Contest winners. Students received prizes for reciting the most digits of Pi., beyond 3.14. Middle School 3rd place-Issac McKelvey, 2nd Place-Bradey Byrd, and 1st place- Jinger Marshall with 118 digits! High School 3rd place-Noah Shouse, 2nd place-Katie Shipman, and 1st place-Irish Neace with 122 digits! Great job, Owls!
