The Class of 2026 began their tour of D.C. visiting several memorials and monuments at the National Mall including the Washington Monument and the Lincoln, Jefferson, MLK, Korean War, Vietnam War, WWI and WWII Memorials.

A productive evening with our Joint Leadership Team analyzing district MAP data and planning next steps to move our students forward.

Congratulations to Sawyer Renfro for being selected for the 2026 Washington Youth Tour! We are proud of your hard work and leadership, and we know you will represent Owsley County well.

We celebrated Mr. Smith this week for Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. We’re thankful for his leadership and all he does for our school!

Some of our newest Owls are joining the nest! We’re excited to welcome the Kindergarten Class of 2039! If you still need to pre-register your child for Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year, you can join us on one of our upcoming dates.

OCES 4th grade science classes welcomed our new 4H extension agent Micah Gayhart today.
Mr. Gayhart brought in incubators and eggs to support our newest section on animal & plant parts ( structures & functions) . Hatch day is April 30th!

Dear Parents and Families: Our school participates in the Title I, Part A program under the Every Student Succeeds Act. The purpose of a schoolwide program is to upgrade the school’s basic program serving the entire student population. Your child has been a participant in a schoolwide program during this school year. The purpose of this questionnaire is to gather information on how well the school communicates with parents of children participating in the Title I program. OCHS students participated in a reverse job fair where they shared their vision and goals to representatives in various employment sectors. Students were able to sharpen their communication skills while also gaining advice directly from community members within their interested career path. We would like to thank everyone who took time to come support and encourage our students!
