Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball tryouts will be October 15th from 6:00-8:00 at the High School Gymnasium. Students must have a current physical and be in grade 7 or above to tryout.

Mrs. Lewis' 7th grade social studies students have been preparing for a debate on the events that led to the decline of feudalism in Europe. They have been collaborating in skills stations to enhance their social studies inquiry practices.

OCHS is very proud of our Spring 2025 KSA Distinguished Readers: Serenity Callahan, Alaina McIntosh, Arianna Smith, Jorge Perez, Peyton Bishop, Eli Bishop, and Connor Patrick. Each student received an engraved, bronze bookmark to celebrate their achievement.



OCHS students who benchmarked in reading on the fall MAP test were rewarded today with free books! Great job, Owls!









The Owsley County Lady Owls competed today in the 11th Region Golf Tournament. This tournament was held today at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg. The Lady Owls finished in 2nd place overall and will advance to the KHSAA First Round of State, which will be held next Monday at Winchester Country Club. Congratulations on advancing to state competition!

Owls' 8th-grader, Eelan Bobrowski-Hall, competed yesterday in the Middle School State Golf Tournament. This tournament was held at Henry County Country Club. Eelan finished in 2nd place overall out of 53 in the tournament. Congratulations to Eelan on this great accomplishment!




Congratulations to our Distinguished Writers at OCHS! The following students were distinguished in combined writing on the 2025 Ky Summative Assessments: Brynslei Wilson, Presley Barrett, Alyssa Price, Isac Lewis, and Dylan Baker. Each student was awarded with an engraved, gold-plated pen.

We are very proud of our OCHS students who scored "Distinguished" on the May 2025 Ky Summative Assessments, placing them in the top 10-15% of Ky students tested in that subject! Today, OCHS students were recognized and given certificates for high achievement on the spring 2025 KSAs. Also, we rewarded all students with some treats and recreation time for good-faith-effort on this week's fall MAP assessment. We are very proud of all of our Owls!
