Students in Mrs. Cornett's social studies classes have been working on a Looming Project with Mrs. Christian and Mrs. Lewis. These projects will be displayed on October 10th Heritage Day at OCHS!







Our Lady Owls Golf Team competed in the 11th Region Golf Tournament at Paintsville Golf Course today. They were successful in defending their title today as this makes back-to-back Region 11 Championships for them. Lady Owls Sophmore, Addison Terry, finished 6th overall in the tournament. Also, Kenzie Grubb was named the Kentucky River Golf Conference “Most Improved Player” for this season. Congratulations to our Lady Owls on their accomplishments! They will advance to the First Round of State next Monday at Winchester Country Club.








National GEAR UP Week is approaching! NEXT WEEK, OCMHS students will celebrate with themed days, a scavenger hunt, college Family Feud in the cafeteria, STEM activities throughout the week, and much more! Parents can be on the lookout for announcements and videos to come.

The 8th grade middle school boys basketball team traveled over to Jackson County High School to play in a tournament and finished 3-1. This special group of boys turned it around after losing the first game this morning to finish strong with three straight wins. They played against OBI, Barbourville, and Jackson Co. En route to winning, the Owls had spectacular moments throughout the tournament. The season looks bright for this group of middle schoolers.

OCHS FFA students participated at the 2023 Wood Expo yesterday. Students competed in a number of forestry and logging skills, learned about the forestry industry, and experienced hands on opportunities of running equipment.







OCMHS enjoying a movie reward for Map test effort earlier this week as well as 96.4% total student attendance on Wednesday, which was High Attendance Day in KY public schools!

Come to the Owsley County public library this Friday for live music, food, and fun! OCHS Band program presents the 2nd MusicFest. Breathitt County Community Band, and Owsley's own Brannon and Justice Nolan, Ian Moore, and Lincoln Spence will perform.
Proceeds benefit OCHS Band.

Beta students are signing up student and staff donors today for this Thursday's Blood Drive with Ky Blood Center. The Bloodmobile will set up at the OCHS gym parking lot from 9 am- 2:30 pm for anyone interested in donating.

Congratulations to Owls seventh grader, Kelten Smith, on his first hole-in-one tonight on hole six at Sag Hollow Golf Course! This took place during the last home conference golf match of the season. Our golf team will conclude conference play at Beechfork in Clay City on Wednesday night. Regions will take place next week at Paintsville CC.

Attention BOYS 6-12 grade. We had a great basketball workout this morning. Come join us on Wednesday morning for our next Breakfast Club meeting starting at 6-7 a.m. at OCHS gym.

The Owsley County Golf Team was very busy today in the Bluegrass.
Jacob McCoy Jr. represented the Owls at the All "A" Boys State Golf Tournament at Gibson Bay today in Richmond.
Addison Terry and Kenzie Grubb represented the Lady Owls at the All "A" Girls State Golf Tournament at The University Club at Arlington today in Richmond.
The Owls Middle School Boys Team also competed in the Regional Middle School Tournament today at Winchester CC.
We are very proud of all our golfers today and their accomplishments!
