OCHS Cross Country schedule. Also, normal practice days will be Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
Don't forget: all incoming 9th grade students need to report to the OCHS "Kids on Stage Room" at 2:30 pm today, August 7th, for Freshman Orientation. See you there!

Calling all incoming 9th graders! On Monday, at 2:30 PM, the OCHS Link Crew will host the Freshman Orientation in the high school cafeteria. Students will socialize with classmates through a game-based introduction to high school. Schedules will also be handed out to attendees.
Please join us for the OCHS Back to School Event on August 7, 2023 from 3:30-5:00 pm. 6th grade orientation will be in the cafeteria at 4:30 pm.

Last Friday's OCHS Summer Reading Celebration at the Farmers Market allowed students to enjoy some fun activities to celebrate and encourage a love of reading!
OCMS/HS students: Please join us on 7/14 from 9 am-12 pm at the OCHS Farmers Market for our Summer Reading Celebration!
OCHS GEAR UP students had a great time on their Summer Excursion this week! The trip included learning about different careers and opportunities, participating in hands-on STEM activities, and so much more!

The GEAR UP Summer Excursion begins tomorrow! Those attending need to be ready to leave from the back of the high school at 10 AM Monday. We are excited to see you!

FAFSA HELP:
Any OCHS senior or former graduate of OCHS that needs assistance with completing the FAFSA, Ronald Brunty with CEOC/TRIO will be at the public library on June 9 from 12:00-4:00 AND June 23 from 12:00-4:00 to assist with completion of the online FAFSA application. Bring your 2021 tax forms with you if you filed taxes. If not, know your monthly income.
Mr. Brunty can also assist with college/technical school applications, GED questions, college transfer services, etc..

On Thursday, June 1st, the OCHS Track and Field team was represented at State by Delaney Smith and Jack Darling. This was Jack’s second time competing at State Track and Field. He competed in the 1600 and 3200. This was Delaney's first appearance at the State Track and Field. She competed in the 1600.

If you have not already done so, remember to log in to your parchment.com account and request your high school transcript AND, if you took dual credit college classes, you will need to request those transcripts as well. If you do not do these two things, it will hold you up at your college orientations that are coming up soon. Please do these things as soon as possible.
We are filling the last spots on our Summer Excursion! Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students are invited. Permission slips can be picked up at the high school office and emailed to Chelsea.harris@owsley.kyschools.us

Congratulations, 2023 OCHS Graduates!
Middle School students enjoyed a Field Day today with fellow students and teachers at OCHS!
Jordan Kidd from Farm Credit Services presented a check for $2,500 to the Owsley County FFA to assist in buying seed corn for the school farm. Last year's flood destroyed the corn before it could be harvested and sold and FCS wanted to help out. We would like to thank Mr. Kidd and Farm Credit Services for helping our FFA chapter to overcome a huge obstacle.
