Senior students are hard at work building a vessel secure enough to keep a raw egg from breaking when dropped from 20 feet! Tomorrow is drop day. Check back in to see who can withstand the pressure!

There will be a student meeting to help determine if there is a viable interest in the sports of Soccer and Tennis. This meeting is for students and will be held in the OCHS gym lobby at 3:00 tomorrow (8/28/2024). There will be a meeting scheduled for parents/guardians at a later date.
The Owls and Lady Owls Golf Team competed today in the 14th Region All "A" Golf Tournament. Kenzie Grubb and Eelan Bobrowski-Hall will both be advancing to the State All "A" Tournament which will be held at Gibson Bay GC. Great playing today by all of our Owls & Lady Owls!










Today, Owsley County High School students in grades 9-12 were able to participate in Arrive Alive Tour. This was a driving simulator that allowed participants to see the dangers of driving while under the influence. Thanks to Arrive Alive Tour and YSC Coordinator, Jenny Barrett.

OCMHS 6th-8th students enjoyed some sunshine and games today during their first afternoon "Celebrations" of the year, a periodic reward for students who have displayed great behavior, attendance, and participation in classes! Great job, students!










Lady Owls Volleyball preparing for the Williamsburg All "A"Invitational Tournament tomorrow morning with a team film session led by Coach Bishop. Best of luck to our team tomorrow in their tournament! Tournament information is attached.

Congratulations to the Lady Owls Volleyball Team and Coaches for picking up a win in their first game of the season against Oneida Baptist! They also won the J.V. game as well. They will be back in action Wednesday night against the Perry County Central Lady Commodores.




The Plant Science class spent time yesterday picking sweet corn so the Principles of Ag class could learn to shuck it! Before it goes on the lunch line next week, the 8th graders, who are learning about commodities, got to make butter and have a taste test!










Floral Design students thanked some of their teachers for "Bringing the Sunshine to OCHS" with a vase of fresh sunflowers cut from the school farm.




As part of the literary study of "A Quilt of a Country" in Mrs. Campbell's class, OCHS freshmen, Bethany Faulkner, brought in a handmade quilt given to her by her grandmother, Maxine Phillips.

Good luck to Cayden Hudson, OCHS junior, who began his school year at the Craft Academy at Morehead State University. The Craft Academy is a selective and prestigious residential school for KY juniors and seniors who have shown excellence in science and mathematics.
