Tomorrow is the annual fundraiser scramble for the Owsley County Golf Team. There is still room to sign a team up to play in the event.

Today at OCHS, the Beta Club led a blood drive in partnership with the KY Blood Center, securing enough blood donations to save 36 lives! Thank you, donors!




Cameron Mills, former University of Kentucky basketball player, visited OCHS today to talk with 11th & 12th grade students about leadership, motivation and influence. Thanks to PRI School Coordinator, Amy Dooley for organizing this event.

The OCHS Lady Owls will be taking on the Lady Bulldogs of Hazard tonight. This is the first round game of the 14th Region All 'A' Classic Volleyball Tournament. Make sure to come out and support our Lady Owls tonight at 6:00!

Lady Owls Sophomore, Kenzie Grubb, competed today in the All 'A' State Golf Tournament at Gibson Bay GC in Richmond. Kenzie finished T58 out of 96 golfers. She plans to take this valuable experience on into her conference play and the upcoming 11th Region Tournament.



M.S. Owls Lance Osborne, Kelten Smith, & Eelan Bobrowski-Hall competed today in a middle school regional golf tournament. The tournament was held at My Old Kentucky Home Golf Course. It was a great experience for our young golfers. Eelan will advance onto the MS State Tournament.




Reminder: 6th-11th grade students will be MAP testing for reading and math tomorrow, Monday, September 9th. Students, please have Chromebooks charged and be ready to show your academic growth!
Eelan Bobrowski-Hall represented the Owls today in the All 'A' State Tournament at Gibson Bay Golf Course. Eelan finished with an 82 which placed him T34 out of 110 golfers.




Congrats to all who participated in the GEAR UP Egg Drop Challenge; all eggs survived the first round! Seniors Naudia, Isaiah, Maikota, Brayden, and Charles all created vessels that survived great heights!

Senior students are hard at work building a vessel secure enough to keep a raw egg from breaking when dropped from 20 feet! Tomorrow is drop day. Check back in to see who can withstand the pressure!

There will be a student meeting to help determine if there is a viable interest in the sports of Soccer and Tennis. This meeting is for students and will be held in the OCHS gym lobby at 3:00 tomorrow (8/28/2024). There will be a meeting scheduled for parents/guardians at a later date.
The Owls and Lady Owls Golf Team competed today in the 14th Region All "A" Golf Tournament. Kenzie Grubb and Eelan Bobrowski-Hall will both be advancing to the State All "A" Tournament which will be held at Gibson Bay GC. Great playing today by all of our Owls & Lady Owls!










Today, Owsley County High School students in grades 9-12 were able to participate in Arrive Alive Tour. This was a driving simulator that allowed participants to see the dangers of driving while under the influence. Thanks to Arrive Alive Tour and YSC Coordinator, Jenny Barrett.
