Congratulations to our pumpkin decorating winners! These talented kids and teachers put their creativity to work, and it paid off! To celebrate, they’ll be heading to Dairy Queen for a sweet treat as their prize.

Mrs. Campbell and her students are thankful to receive their own copies of "Haint Country". It's amazing to see them getting excited about a story that brings history and mystery to life. Grateful to Mrs. Debbie Smith and the KYCL Grant for this chance to inspire curiosity and love for reading.

Today, middle school students in Mr. Lewis' class participated in Halloween science activities courtesy of Gear Up STEM.









What's better on Halloween than a special guest of puppies? Kentucky author Leigh Anne Florence is best known for her children's series, Woody, The Kentucky Wiener, based on her black and tan doxie Woody and his sister Chloe. They visited OCES today!

Administrators and ELA teachers attended the Kentucky Early Literacy Leadership Network (KyELLN) as a team today. We gained fresh insights, practical strategies, and innovative tools to help our students build strong literacy foundations.

Owsley County Athletics would like to thank the fans (Owsley, Highland Turner and Buckhorn) for raising $355 to donate to Cancer Care Ministries at our games tonight. Together we can make the battle of cancer easier for our community.

Our new/emerging teachers had a fantastic monthly meeting. So much great conversation around building positive classroom environments and setting high expectations for our students. It’s inspiring to learn together and hear everyone’s insights and experiences.
