The Lexington Herald Leader released their 2024-25 Preseason 14th Region Player Rankings. Sophomore Macey Brown landed at #2 and Sophomore Kenzie Grubb at #8. Huge accomplishment for these two young Lady Owls and their just getting started!

In 1956 the Owsley County Owls won the 56th District Basketball Championship. When Owsley County High School had fire damage in the late 1980's most of the trophies were destroyed. Former Lady Owls Coach Randall Spencer (also a member of the 1956 team) was able to recover this trophy after the fire and preserved it. After some restoration it will be back on display with all our championship trophies at the gym. We want to say Thank you to Judy Spencer for preserving this part of school history.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mr. Glenn Baker, a beloved former principal and district administrator in our school community. Mr. Baker dedicated his career to the success and well-being of students, staff, and families, leaving an enduring legacy of leadership and compassion. His impact on education and the lives he touched will not be forgotten. Please join us in keeping his family, friends, and all who knew him in your thoughts during this difficult time. We are grateful for Mr. Baker’s many contributions to our schools and community. He will be deeply missed.

There will be NO SCHOOL in Owsley County on Tuesday, December 3rd. This will not be a NTI day.
Congratulations to the OCMHS 6th grade class for winning the 2024-25 High Attendance Tournament! Today, these students were awarded individual medals, class ownership of the championship belt, and a gym pizza party! Great job, Owls!
