OCMHS Summer School Week 3: Water Wonders- The week started with guest speaker, David Hall, Booneville Water and Sewer Superintendent helping students design a water filtration system. The students enjoyed a Water Cycle Breakout Room and designed their own water cycle model. They used their creativity to make water droplet art demonstrating adhesion and cohesion of water and created stained glass art with graphing equations of lines. Students also participated in a competitive unit rate scavenger hunt, proportional and non-proportional card sort, and distance/time sidewalk chalk activity. They ended a wonderful week full of lots of fun and learning with a water balloon war and their own OCMHS Gold Rush!

OCMHS Summer School Week 2-The Great Outdoors: This week students made and launched hot air balloons after reading an article and participating in a question and answer session with a hot air balloon pilot. They participated in an interactive campfire story, constructed a solar oven, and baked campfire food in their solar ovens. They participated in a nature scavenger hunt and used handheld microscopes to observe their collections. They also used their math skills to make Kandinsky circles, angles in their names, and angles in circles with spinning tops. Students had a busy, fun-filled week of learning!
