2025 Summer Meals:
This year, the Owsley County Schools Food Service will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program, SUN Meals. Summer meals will look a little different this year, as we will now be providing meals for pick up at the school ONLY. Children up to 18 years old will be able to pick up meals twice per week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Tuesday's will provide 3 days of meals, while Friday's will provide 4 days of meals - breakfast and lunch included! You can expect to see easily prepared/ microwavable items such as Pepperoni Pockets or Turkey and Cheese on a Croissant, in addition to fruits, vegetables, and half gallons or gallons of milk! This will eliminate the need for daily deliveries while still providing our kids with foods they love. We are excited for this opportunity to make changes and grow our summer program. Please check the School Nutrition Department page on the Board Website for more details in the upcoming weeks. As the summer gets closer, we will provide an online Sign Up as in previous years to schedule your pick up times. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Bitty League 2025 ended with a bang! Pick-Up Country was live on mic with lights and smoke filling the gym. Owls and Lady Owls put on a show on the floor for the crowd. It's a great time to be an Owl. The future is BRIGHT!!!

The Owsley County 4-H 4th Grade Club had a rockin’ good time at their May lesson! As part of their test prep, students dove into the fascinating world of fossils, minerals, and rocks, learning how the three types of rocks—igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic—are formed. They worked in teams to sort and identify various rocks, minerals, and fossils, putting their knowledge to the test in a fun and interactive way.
To wrap things up, each student got to break open their own geode and take it home!
