Sketchnotes allows students to process their thinking from new learning to identify main ideas, supporting details, make connections within the material and with previously learned content, and organize their learning. The use of images (representations) helps students to increase connections in the brain as well as provide a way of synthesizing the notes. This is an example of Sketchnotes by Miss Mattie Gambill in Mrs. Begley's class.

OCES students in grades 3-5 will be taking the Kentucky Summative Assessment May 9-May 15th. Please help us ensure strong attendance by avoiding appointments, tardies, or early checkouts during this important testing period. Attendance and being on time are both critical to a successful testing experience. We appreciate your support in making sure students are present, on time, and ready to do their best each day.
