Our summer school students worked hard this summer to strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills through hands-on, creative learning. As part of their work, they created original stories and artwork inspired by the theme “Our Town, Our Story.” Their projects highlight both academic growth and a deep sense of pride in their community.

Partner with us to display student artwork in your business! Our summer school students have created original artwork based on the theme, "Our Town, Our Story." If you're interested in displaying some of their work in your business, please reach out. We would love to partner with you.

OCHS Varsity Cheer got the opportunity to complete UCA Camp this week. This was a chance for the team to perfect stunts, motions, jumps, learn new material, and most of all bond. We look forward to supporting our Owls and Lady Owls this coming season!

Thank you to Carter County Superintendent Dr. Paul Green (Owsley County Alumni) for reading " Grandma Nell's Secret, An Appalachian Fairytale" to summer school students at OCES. This book was written by Dr. Green's mother Sharon Green over 30 years ago. Thanks to a generous donation, every student present received a copy of the book.

That's a wrap... Day #2 and Mini Cheer Camp is over and it was a success! Campers got a mini lesson on stunting, learned proper motions, and the importance of stretching. OCHS Varsity Cheer did a wonderful job hosting this event for the youth in the community.
We hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to next year!!
Huge thank you to Gummy Bear Inflatables for the bounce house and Owsley Co public library for sponsoring refreshments.
