I hope this message finds you well. As we edge closer to the end of this academic year, I want to take a moment to emphasize something that has a profound impact on your child’s success—consistent school attendance.
Every day that your child is present in school is a day filled with learning, and growth. Research and experience show that students who attend school regularly are more likely to excel academically, and develop the discipline needed for lifelong success. Even occasional absences can add up, leading to missed lessons that are difficult to fully recover.
I understand that illnesses and family emergencies happen, and we will always support our students through those situations. However, I encourage you to prioritize attendance whenever possible and to reach out if there are challenges keeping your child from coming to school. We are here to partner with you in ensuring that every student has the best possible foundation for success.

The Owsley County District Literacy Leadership Team and Gifted Committee met tonight to plan literacy and enrichment activities for students in prek through 12th grade.

Our new and emerging teachers held their monthly meeting tonight, focusing on classroom management and building positive relationships with students.
We also want to celebrate three of our new teachers who have successfully completed all their teacher certification tests! Congratulations to Mr. Wagers, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Wolfe on this incredible achievement!
