Happy Administrative Professionals Day to our awesome OCHS office staff: Becky McQueen, Tanya Tirey, and Crystal Reed!

It’s a busy time for our seniors. Please review these important upcoming events for the Class of 2026, along with prom details for Saturday, April 25.
Walk-in begins at 6:00 PM. Prom attendants should be dropped off behind the gym near the concession entrance. Parents and visitors may park in the gym parking lot and enter through the OCHS gym doors. Please sit on the visitor side bleachers for walk-in viewing.

Workouts with On-Point Ballers are canceled this week. Workouts will resume on Monday, April 27th. Reservations are being taken at this time for Monday!

Owsley County Elementary families, we are entering an important testing season for our students.
Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) for Grades 3–5 will begin on Wednesday, May 6th. Testing will take place during the final weeks of school. Please see the attached schedule for specific testing dates. Let’s work together to help our students finish the year strong!

Today we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day across our schools and district. Your work keeps everything running smoothly, supports our students and staff, and makes a difference every single day. Thank you for all you do for our schools and community.

SBDM Parent Elections will be held Tuesday, April 28 from 2:00–6:00 PM at OCES and OCMHS. Parents and guardians of enrolled students are eligible to vote.

2026 Senior Spotlight

You may see KSP on our school campuses this week. They will be doing walk throughs and spot checks while SRO Hudson is at School Resource Officer Training II with the Department of Criminal Justice.

From Frontier to Future: This summer, students will explore Kentucky’s history while building reading, math, and creativity skills. They will read about Kentucky’s past and present, apply math through real-world activities, and create hands-on projects inspired by the state’s heritage and future.

We’re excited to share that our district has been selected as one of 35 sites across Kentucky to participate in the 2026 Summer Boost: Reading and Mathematics Program!

Through this partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education and the Summer Food Service Program, our families will have access to free books and digital math resources to keep students learning and engaged all summer long.
