OCES Lost & Found - Glasses

OCMHS students with perfect attendance in August were entered into a drawing, and the winners enjoyed choosing a book from the vending machine.

Another week of learning and growing across the district. These snapshots capture just a few of the many moments happening in our schools this week.

Today, OCHS students were recognized and given certificates for high achievement on the spring 2025 KSAs. Also, we rewarded all students with some treats and recreation time for good-faith-effort on this week's fall MAP assessment. We are very proud of all of our Owls!

Mrs. Mc inadvertently left out a group picture from 4th grade on celebration day. Proud of everyone!

FYI! Interested players, Coach Brewer is ready to get started working with you for the season!

OCES held an assembly to recognize KSA, MAP, STAR & STEM results among 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grades. We are so proud of our students and hope to have a bigger group to celebrate in December!

The OCHS Beta Club is hosting a Blood Drive next Friday, September 19, 2025 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. The KY Blood Center truck will be set up in the gym parking lot during that time. Senior Beta members will be signing up students ages 16+ during their lunch periods next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If any school staff, families, or community members would like donate, please come by the truck during that time or contact Jessica Brewer at OCHS to set up a specific time. Let's help save lives of Kentuckians and support the OCHS Beta Club in this service event! Thank you!

OCMS Lady Owls 7th grade routed Wolfe 32-20 at home tonight. Our 5/6 team fell but are looking better every game!

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Barrett have filled the OCMHS library with fall favorites and spooky reads. Students, your next page-turner is waiting in the OCMHS library!

Mrs. Smith is finding creative ways to make reading fun! Students are engaged and excited to dive into their books using their “cool fingers” to track the words as they read. Love seeing the joy of reading come alive in the classroom!

This week at OCMHS:

📢MAP Testing This Week📢
Our students will participate in fall MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing this week. These assessments help us understand each student's strengths and areas of growth, allowing us to provide the best support possible.
⚫ OCES students will test Monday, September 8-Wednesday, September 10th, in Reading, Math, Science, and Language/Mechanics.
⚫ OCMHS students will test on September 8th in Reading, Math, and Science.
💡Parents/Guardians, please help your child be ready by making sure they get a good night's rest and come to school with their Chromebook fully charged each day of testing.

Mrs. Brown's 5th grade homeroom also completed a STEM project where they made airplanes for a distance competition. Students attempted two flight trials to make revision to their designs, currently Zayden Lynch and Marshall Turner hold the #1 spot.
