Happy Ag Education Week! Ag students and FFA members have had an exciting week with lots going on! Greenhouse students peeled mature luffa plants to expose the natural sponges inside. They also planted cacti to take home and continue growing. A big thank you to sophomore Maverick Kelley for the cuttings! Principles of Ag students had a similar opportunity, planting pothos cuttings. Floral Design students continued learning about floral design elements through wreath making. Pictured is a wreath made by senior Kamilla Marcum. Several students volunteered to help build a new farm stand that will be used at various times throughout the year. A HUGE thank you to Sammy Dooley, Christian Hahaj, Justin Thomas, Bentley Spence, Zach Wilkerson, Logan Green, and Peyton Farthing for their help! Our Land Judging Team has been working very hard to perfect their knowledge and skills before competing at Fall Field Day on October 15. Wish them luck in this upcoming competition! Nineteen FFA members traveled to J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp for the Regional Leadership Conference on September 24. These members had the opportunity to participate in workshops, play games, learn new leadership skills, and meet members from across the Kentucky River Region. Lastly, the September chapter meeting was held on September 25. The officer team had lots of new and exciting information to share during the meeting, and we are looking forward to a busy fall season!

This is what it looks like to #GiveLikeDolly.
Right here in Owsley County, 126 children receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s
Imagination Library.
Behind every book is a community of people who believe in the power of giving—our donors, volunteers,
local partners and supporters who help make this program possible.
Today on September 25, Give Like Dolly Day, you can help us reach even more children and families in Owsley County. Every gift helps us continue building a community where children can grow up surrounded by the
joy of books and reading.
