Seniors in Mrs. Brewer's Financial Literacy class have been learning about banking, including checking & savings accounts. Today, Angie Marshall & Mindy Burns from Farmers State Bank shared information about different accounts they have to offer & answered students' questions.






Have a child age 0-5 in Owsley County? Make sure they are enrolled in Owsley County's Imagination Library to get a free book in the mail each month from Birth to Age 5! You can also help support our local program by donating to Owsley County's Imagination Library Program.

Our Joint Leadership Team met this evening to develop 30-day action plans around our Local Accountability Model, using the feedback and values shared by our stakeholders.
We are turning community voice into action, staying accountable to what matters most, and continuing to ensure Owsley County Schools is the Pride of Our Community.

Owsley County Agriculture Students and FFA members have been hard at work this week!
OCHS FFA had their first chapter meeting of the year today, with 40 members in attendance.
Floral Design students have been working on elements of floral design and were able to create their own floral arrangements to end the week.
Principals of Agriculture and Intro to Ag students have been studying beef cattle. Students have been learning about the origin of beef cattle breeds and uses of beef cattle. They ended the week with a project where they were able to create their own keychain to simulate cattle branding.





At OCHS, Mr. Brewer's P.E. students have been enjoying competitions on the LU: Interactive Playground. Also, Mr. Parker's students have been working on some summer-themed art projects while Mrs. Barrett's reading students work on citing textual evidence.

Our high school students are hard at work at the Area Technology Center! They are gaining valuable hands-on experience, learning skilled trades, and building skills that will prepare them for future careers.

Our second Local Accountability Meeting provided an opportunity to share our goals and objectives and gather valuable feedback from parents, staff, and community members.
We’ll meet again in December to evaluate our progress and keep ourselves accountable as we strive to be the Pride of Our Community!
