Several students found eggs with bonus points coupons from their teachers, drop-an-assignment grade coupons, and plenty of candy. It was a great afternoon. From Owsley County High School, Happy Easter!

Owsley County Athletics has an exciting announcement for a new Earle B. Combs Classic, which hopefully will become an annual game to be played at Earle Combs Stadium at Eastern Kentucky University. In its inaugural year, the Classic will feature our Owsley County Owls playing the Richmond Model Patriots this Monday.
Earle Combs was born and raised in the Pebworth community here in Owsley County. In time, he went on to play for the New York Yankees and produced a Hall of Fame career batting leadoff for the legendary Murderers' Row lineup. After his HOF playing and coaching career, he retired to the Richmond community and was very active with Eastern Kentucky University. The Earle B. Combs Classic's primary focus is to pay tribute and tie history to arguably the greatest baseball player the Commonwealth and Eastern Kentucky have ever produced.
Here is a famous quote by Combs: "I thought the Hall of Fame was for superstars, not just average players like me." As humble as Combs may have been, he was quite far from an average player.
Special thanks to Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond Model Laboratory Schools, and Classic Sponsors for making this event possible.
