Great wins tonight for the 7th and 8th grade boys versus a big and talented Magoffin County team. 7th grade won their game 44-34 being led in scoring by Bryson Bowling with 23 and Eelan Bobrowski-Hall with 11 and rebounding was led again by Kelten Smith with 8 rebounds. The 8th grade won their game 52-26 and was led in scoring by Andrew Terry with 25 points and Jordan McCoy with 22. Jordan also went 5 for 6 from the 3-point line tonight. The 8th grade was also led in rebounds by Matthew Wright with 9 and Andrew Terry with 8. Another big stat to take away from the 8th grade game was there was only a total of 7 turnovers in the whole game. Very proud of these boys as they are on the right track and get better every day. Their next game is away at OBI on Friday and we would love to see as many of our fans there as we can get!

OCHS juniors, seniors, and parents are invited to an evening with KHEAA and KCTCS representatives (see attached flyers). After grabbing food and learning about important KHEAA updates, juniors and seniors (and their parents) will be divided into separate rooms to learn about grade-specific planning information. Seniors will be assisted in creating an FSA ID for themselves and any parents who do not already have one (see the flyer for info on what you'll need to bring). The upcoming FAFSA is unlike any other FAFSA in the past. The application has undergone a complete “remodel.” Those in attendance will learn about the important changes in format and definition. Juniors will begin planning for their upcoming senior year. Mrs. Vanessa Johnson will relay important information about dual credit, scholarships, work-study, and more. A representative from KCTCS will share more about opportunities for both career-focused and college-focused students.
