Owls 8th grade team moves to 2-0 in district play with 41-35 win over Estill County. Andrew Terry dropped 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the win.
The Owsley County middle school boys basketball team hosted some tough Estill Co teams tonight. Bryson Bowling lead all scorers in the 6th grade game with 23 and Ryan Brandenburg lead rebounds with 10 on the night with the win 30-10. For 7th grade, Preston Strong lead all scorers with 6, Elijah Hatton had 9 big rebounds, and Trenton Bowling had 7 steals for the Owls. Andrew Terry lead scoring and rebounding for the 8th grade game with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Matt Wright was behind him on rebounds with 13 and Dalton Sebastian lead 8th grade with 6 big steals as well. All the starters for the 8th grade played tough defense against a tall and fast Estill Co. team and all of them scored tonight for the win 36-29. Great wins for our boys that are growing every day!

The Owls have been practicing 3 weeks strong and I see a different team since October 15. Our teams attitude has completely changed. The boys are staying positive on and off the court. I have seen a change in these young men. Still got a ways to go but having a great start!

Clark county middle school played like a state powerhouse today. Our young Owls gave it their best effort but came up short. Andrew Terry finished the game with 18 points.

Save the date! Maroon & White Night has been set for Friday, November 11th. Make plans to come see our student-athletes showcase their talents. Our teams have been hard at work! In honor of Veterans Day, veterans and active military will receive free entry, popcorn, and a pop.
All our guys are working hard and getting better. I have seen improvement in all the boys who have attended the Breakfast Club meetings in the past 3 months.

Tryouts for the Owsley County Lady Owls Basketball Team will be October 17th from 3:45-5:30 at Owsley County Elementary! Updated KHSAA physical required.
Official OCHS boys basketball practice will start next week Monday Oct. 17th 4:30-6:30. Must have an up to date physical.
