Owsley County Varsity Cheerleaders share their love for reading at Owsley County Head Start
On Tuesday March 11th, The Owsley County Board of Education will meet to discuss amending the 2024-25 school calendar by adding 10 minutes of instructional time to the school day beginning on March 12th. If amended, this extra time will be used to make up for the loss of instructional time due winter weather and flooding. This will tentatively move the closing day of school back into the month of May.

Owsley County Judge Zeke Little, Emergency Management Director Jerry McIntosh, and Chief Operations Officer Chad Mason partnered with OCHS BETA students to assess tornado drills at local businesses and schools during Kentucky’s Statewide Tornado Drill.

Fifth grade students have been studying the Reformation movement including religious leaders such as Martin Luther and John Calvin. As a culminating project students created a timeline of significant historical events during this time period.
