As an enrichment for Amplify Unit 8, 5th Grade students researched Native American tribes of their choice. Students applied what they learned by creating dioramas showcasing Native American homes, tools, and regional geographical features.

Reminder OCMHS Families: The Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) begins Friday, May 9th through May 23rd for students in grades 6-11 at Owsley County Middle and High School.
Attendance is essential during this time. Please avoid scheduling appointments, and help your student be at their best by ensuring they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and bring a charged Chromebook each day.

Reminder, OCES Families: KSA testing for students in grades 3-5 begins Friday, May 9th and run through Thursday, May 15th.
Help set your child up for success by:
*Making sure they get a good night's sleep.
*Arriving on time each morning and eating a good breakfast.

A Night to Remember, A Year to Celebrate.. Prom 2025

Owsley County Schools is currently accepting nominations for two parent representatives to serve one year (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026) on the School Based Decision Making Council (SBDM) at OCHS school and one parent representative for OCES. Council members consist of 2 parents, 3 teachers and the principal.
Any parent with a student attending Owsley County Schools during the current school year is eligible to run for SBDM. A parent is ineligible if he/she is: 1) an employee or a relative* of an employee of Owsley County High/Elementary School, 2) an employee or relative of an employee at the Owsley County district administrative office(s), or 3) a board member, or a board member’s spouse.
If you would like to nominate yourself or a candidate for Owsley County School’s SBDM, please complete this form by 4 pm, May 9, 2025.
The Election will be held electronically Monday, May 12, 2025 between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.
