Today, OCHS students in our Senior Leadership class enjoyed a trip to London, KY and a first-class meal and service at Local Honey-a perfect follow-up to their etiquette class yesterday. A great experience for our seniors!

Owsley County High School hosted its annual college and career fair on Wednesday as part of the activities for Operation Preparation. We had 10 representatives from colleges/universities/technical schools/military and 34 professionals in attendance. Students in grades 6-12 participated in the fair. OCHS is very appreciative of everyone that donated their time and expertise for our students.

Owsley County High School participated in Operation Preparation this week. This is a week in March focused on career exploration. On Monday, Joplin Rice from KHEAA spoke to 8th and 10th graders about being successful in high school, GPA, KEES scholarship money, and career choices.

The Owls were victorious tonight with a 9-0 win over the Lee County Bobcats. Freshman pitcher, Dylan Gay, delivered a commanding performance on the mound with a no-hitter and shutout. The Owls move to 3-0 on the season and will play tomorrow evening against Jackson City at 6:00.

Congratulations to our Pi Day (3/14) winners. These students were able to recite the most digits of pi during our Pi Day Math contest!

Track and Field practice will be tomorrow after school to 4:15. Practice will begin at the Farmers Market. Students interested in participating will need to have a sports physical before participating.
Tonight, OCHS hosted the Ides of March. Students demonstrated their learning through Rome-themed presentations. It was a great night for our school community; building on our positive, student-centered culture. Thanks to everyone for making this a special event for our school!




Mason Smith helped lead the bats for the Owls tonight in their season-opening win over Menifee County. Smith launched a towering home run tonight over the left-center field fence. Congrats to the Owls Baseball Team and Coaches!

A reminder to our parents/caregivers and students about the Ides of March event at OCHS this afternoon. Spaghetti dinner for all attendees starting at 4:30 pm with student presentations to follow!

Congrats to Mr. Adrian Hudson's 1st period Coding class who won the OCHS A-T-T-E-N-D-A-N-C-E challenge and received a pizza party this afternoon!

Owsley County High School will be hosting its college and career fair on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 12:30-2:30 at the Owsley County High School gymnasium as part of its Operation Preparation activities. We have invited several but wanted to make sure we had not missed anyone. We would love to have you attend and share your expertise with our students.
