On Thursday, June 1st, the OCHS Track and Field team was represented at State by Delaney Smith and Jack Darling. This was Jack’s second time competing at State Track and Field. He competed in the 1600 and 3200. This was Delaney's first appearance at the State Track and Field. She competed in the 1600.
Congratulations to our awesome athletes!

SENIORS:
If you have not already done so, remember to log in to your parchment.com account and request your high school transcript AND, if you took dual credit college classes, you will need to request those transcripts as well. If you do not do these two things, it will hold you up at your college orientations that are coming up soon. Please do these things as soon as possible.
We are filling the last spots on our Summer Excursion! Rising 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students are invited. Permission slips can be picked up at the high school office and emailed to Chelsea.harris@owsley.kyschools.us
See flyer for details!

Congratulations, 2023 OCHS Graduates!

Middle School students enjoyed a Field Day today with fellow students and teachers at OCHS!

Jordan Kidd from Farm Credit Services presented a check for $2,500 to the Owsley County FFA to assist in buying seed corn for the school farm. Last year's flood destroyed the corn before it could be harvested and sold and FCS wanted to help out. We would like to thank Mr. Kidd and Farm Credit Services for helping our FFA chapter to overcome a huge obstacle.

OCHS Sophomores have enjoyed Main Event-Lexington today, celebrating the end of the 2022-23 school year and their effort on the KY Summative Assessments!

Students in Head Start, OCES, and OCMHS received a reading packet with five books and a journal for reading outside the classroom during summer break. Please encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes a day. Both schools have a literacy event planned for your child’s dedication to reading the books. A letter was sent home with further details. Thanks to the KYCL grant for funding the books!

Today's the day! Mrs. Haley and Mrs. Chelsea will be set up in the Family Dollar parking lot from 3-6 PM, handing out important information for our high school students. Parents and students are encouraged to stop by and have a (FREE!) cool treat on this hot day!

Our OCHS Freshmen enjoyed some bowling, games, and pizza at Lee County Rec Center today. Teachers and students celebrated the end of a great school year!

OCHS 7th Graders have had a great day of fishing and fellowship today at Buckhorn Campground---a great end to the KSAs and the school year!

On Thursday, May 18th, the OCHS Track & Field Team competed at Regions where multiple personal records were broken.
STATS:
Jack Darling - PR 800 (3rd), PR 1600 (2nd), PR 3200 (1st)
Mathew Darling - PR 400 (1:16.17), PR 1600 (6:19.54)
Delaney Smith - PR 1600 (5th), PR 3200 (4th)
Next stop, State!!
