Owsley Early Head, Head Start and Preschool children continues their learning Tuesday evening with their parents at our Family Literacy Night Families participated in literacy and math activities plus making cookies together. Every child received a free story book with parent child activities to continue learning at home with their families.
Owsley Early Head Start, Head Start and Preschool children enjoyed a day of many fun activities around the story "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" from art activities to baking chocolate chip cookies for snack.
Day 4 of Dr Seuss Spirit week at Owsley County Early Childhood. Today was wear Green Day with our focus story "Green Eggs and Ham" The Cat in the Hat visited all our classrooms bring each child a new Dr Seuss storybook thanks to the Strive to Read grant.
Owsley County Early Childhood kicks off "Read Across America" with Dr. Suess Spirit Week. Today was "Cat in the Hat" Day with the children wearing his/ her favorite hat.
The Tooth Fairy visits Owsley County Early Childhood for National Dental Health Month. She gave each child a new storybook "Brush Their Teeth" with parent and child activities and a new tooth brush. Her message for all the children is to brush your teeth every day.

Owsley Early Childhood had a special visitor Winnie the Pooh visit each classroom today to celebrate his birthday. Winnie read a story to the children and gave each child a story book.

Owsley County Early Childhood would like to thank all our families who joined us Friday, November 18 for our Thanksgiving Feast. We had 156 family members who ate lunch with us. A BIG thank you to our food service ladies who cooked the delicious meal. These ladies are the best.
Dad’s Day at Owsley Early Childhood
Our staff would like to thank all our Dads, papaws, uncles who joined us for a ghost hunt. Children also collected items to make a monster when they returned to the classrooms. All the children had a wonderful time creating their own special monster.
One of our priorities in Early Head Start and Head Start is to plan father engagement activities during our program year. Research findings show the positive, lifelong impact fathers can have by being positively engaged early in their children lives.
Owsley County Early Childhood celebrates National Literacy Day Thanks to those who came and read to ours children..
