Owsley Elementary students will be bringing home dental forms for the Elgin Program to provide dental care and transportation for students to the dentist. Forms will go home Monday, and if your student returns it by Friday, February 17th, they will be entered in a drawing for a bicycle Friday afternoon.

Important NTI Day Information
 

Parents and Students,

 

We are starting our Non-traditional instruction( NTI) days for grades 7-12 consists of complete short courses around topics of student interest. Students in grades 7 and 8 are enrolled in one of two courses: Beautiful Bluegrass or Heroes. Students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in one of four courses: By Way of the Owl, Who Am I?, Abnormal Psychology, and The Human Body. These courses are facilitated by teams of teachers who will communicate with students and parents regarding coursework and to provided any needed supports or assistance with work. Students should work on their courses on each non-traditional instructional day, but they may also work on any other day that they wish. All courses must be complete by March 1.

Parents: OCES has started Non-Traditional Days and teachers are already working on answering questions and helping work out issues. Kindergarten will begin NTI with Reading Eggs and Math Seeds. 1st grade has work in ABCMouse.com and Zearn, 2nd grade also has Zearn and reading/writing. All logins were sent home in letters in December. 3rd - 6th grade should begin work in their google classrooms on Digital Citizenship and continue throughout the lessons. All snow work should be completed by March 1st.
