About Our School
Owsley County Elementary School strives to provide high quality world-class learning opportunities to a diverse student population of approximately 400 students in grades Kindergarten through 6. The school has recently underwent a technology upgrade which will bring our students access to an almost infinite variety of 21st century learning skills, activities, and opportunities. Standards-based programs such as Gifted and Talented, Save the Children, Math in Focus, and 21st Century provide our students various instructional needs. The use of a variety of technology support programs such as Study Island, Carnegie Math, Ticket to Read and others help engage students in learning. Our award winning family resource center is constantly initiating programs to meet the needs of our students and their families. Finally, the combination of a caring staff and a warm physical environment of colorful hallways, delightful murals, and even a "Jungle Cafe" (our school's jungle themed cafeteria) provide a stimulating environment for our students to meet their educational goals.
